Chrys Roboras is a renowned Greek artist born and raised in Australia and now lives and works in Athens. Her painting primarily explores anthropocentrism, with a particular passion for portraiture, as it allows her to delve into the human soul. Additionally, she is drawn to landscapes, viewing them as both a significant subject and a creative challenge.
Chrys studied at Seaforth TAFE College in Sydney, Australia, where she graduated in 1992. She continued her education in Greece at AKTO (Middlesex University, England), graduating in 2008 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and Technology with First Class Honors. Furthermore, she received training in painting from Tassos Misouras and in visual communication from Nikos Navridis and Katerina Apostolidou.
Chrys has held 22 solo exhibitions in cities such as Athens, Thessaloniki, Paros, New York, Toronto, London, Lugano, Los Angeles, Sydney, Chicago, and Brooklyn. She has participated in notable art events, including Art Athina, Revolution Art Fair, Parallax Art Fair, the Biennale of Chianciano, the Biennale of Beijing, the Biennale of Santorini, Art Basel Miami, Scope Art Fair, Red Dot, Design Art Fair, and the Emerging Artist Award in Dubai, as well as Art Takes Paris, The Artist Project, and The Other Art Fair by Saatchi.
Her artwork has been showcased in more than 80 group exhibitions worldwide, and she has received international awards. Many of her works are featured in international art catalogs, such as ArtTakes Miami (2012, 2014, 2015), Create Magazine, Art Seen: The Curators Salon, Malamegi Lab 17, Contemporary Art Curator, Contemporary Art Identities, and Contemporary Art Collectors Book Volume I. In 2013, Serendipity magazine published a tribute to her work.
Her pieces can be found at the Museum of Fine Arts in Las Vegas and in numerous private collections in Greece and abroad.
